DJ TSUYOSHI (TSUYOSHI SUZUKI) |
1967
Born in Tokyo, Japan. Studies and graduates from Japan Art College 1980's
Strongly influenced by YMO and English New Wave music, forms a band. Also creates visual and video art. 1990's
At the start of the decade sees DJ Kudo play at Trance Night at Shibuya Cave Nightclub in Tokyo. The shock from this draws him into DJing.
1993
Moves to London to continue his DJing career
1995
The event Return to the Source begins, at which Tsuyoshi is resident DJ. Around this time Tsuyoshi begins to be booked to play in many countries outside of England. Sets up his own label, Matsuri Productions, and records his first album, under the name of Prana.
1996
Matsuri Productions records are licensed to France, Israel and Japan. Tsuyoshi plays again in Japan at Matsuri Parties in June, September and November to audiences of over 1,000 people each time. Tsuyoshi plays at festivals such as Tribal Gathering, Big Love and the Phoenix Festival as well as Djing mainly around Europe.
1997
February Plays as the headlining DJ at the large Japanese festival Rainbow 2000 Presents Aurora Psychedelika, in addition to helping produce the event. Over 8,000 people come. May
Plays again in Japan at Return to the Sorce In Japan party to over 5,000people July Plays as the DJ/musical co-ordinator at the Issey Miyake Men's fashion show in Paris. August Plays as the headlining DJ at the Rainbow 2000 outdoor festival at Mt Fuji, which draws crowds of over 15,000 people. November Plays again as the DJ/musical co-ordinator at the Issey Miyake Men's fashion show in Tokyo.

Plays to over 10,000 people as the headlining DJ in Yoyogi Park, Tokyo. August Tsuyoshi's new band, Joujouka, play their first gig at the Liquid Room, Tokyo December Joujouka's first album is released
January,1999
Plays as the headlining DJ at the Earthcore Festival in Melbourne, Australia. April Begins a monthly party, Sympathy in Chaos in Bar Rhumba, London. The first guest DJs are Mixmaster Morris and Steve Hillage (System 7)

Plays at the Love Parade, Berlin Plays at the Fuji Rock festival, Tokyo August Plays at the Rainbow 2000 at Hakusan outdoor festival

Plays with Junior Vasquez at the legendary Twilo nightclub in New York The Joujouka album "re-SEI" is released, and a tour of Tokyo, Osaka, Sapporo, Nagoya and Fukuoka is held with the Japanese artist Tadanobu Asano contributing on four dates of the tour, playing to over 3,800 people.
